Official: Russia creates no obstacles for Roshen’s plant work
LIPETSK, Jan 23 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has created no obstacles for operations of a Roshen confectionery located near the Russian city of Lipetsk belonging to Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko, Valentina Matviyenko, speaker of the Federation Council, a supreme chamber of parliament, told reporters on Monday.
“There have been no disincentives for operations of the Lipetsk factory of Mr. Poroshenko in Russia, no political undercurrent. The reasons are more of an economic character,” Matviyenko said.
Roshen said on January 20 that the Lipetsk plant will stop operations due to political and economic reasons. The company said that output of the confectionery has fallen 67% since 2013, partially due to restrictions by the Russian authorities.
